Trips
We fly every weekend and every Wednesday at the Cotswold Gliding Club near Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Typical trip costs
- £5 for transport
- £20 for flights - each launch is £6.50, you should expect 3 launches per day (weather permitting).
- Soaring fees - the first 10 minutes are free in club gliders. After 10 minutes, soaring fees are charged to pay for maintenance of the glider. Soaring fees are around 28p per minute, depending on the glider.
If you're lucky enough to get an hour's gliding from one launch, you'll get the whole hour for just over £20!
Flying fees should be paid at the end of each day directly to Cotswold Gliding Club through the club office.
Kit list
- £5 for transport

- Lunch and snacks - or £5 to spend at the club
- Thermos/drink
- Suitable clothes
- Sunglasses
- Gliding logbook and training card
Please bring some small change (i.e. pound coins and £5 notes - not just £20 notes), as there is very little change available at the club.
Drivers
If you have your own car or are qualified to register as a UWESU driver, please see the links below. Helpful club members with cars are the only way to get to the gliding club, so we really need your help. Your fuel costs will of course be covered by the members you take to the club.
Induction 2011
