Membership
UWE Gliding Club operates from the Cotswold Gliding Club at Aston Down airfield near Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Cotswold Gliding Club is one of the UK's Premier Gliding Clubs, and as a member of UWEGC you have access to all of their facilities, including their new training fleet of PW-6U and DG500 two seat training gliders.

You need no prior experience to join, as we will take you right from being an ab-initio, to solo and beyond.
All equipment and instruction is provided by the club. Once you've joined and attended an induction trip, you'll be able to go to as many of our weekly trips as you like.
When on the ground you can take part in running the airfield, which includes running the launch, operating radios and learning how the winch works - all of this is great experience of teamwork and organising that looks great on your CV!
Due to aircraft restrictions, we cannot fly anyone who is over 110kg (242lbs) in weight. People over 1.9m (6’-3”) may not fit in the glider. Please contact us for advice.
If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch with the committee, or check out the FAQs.
Membership fees - Academic Year 2011/2012
The membership fee for UWE students is £25 - including your first flight!
